Wash face with St. Ives Apricot Scrub:the beads will get rid of all dead skin and the apricot scent will rejuvenate your mood. Trust me. It can be a little harsh, so if you have sensitive skin try Clean and Clear’s brand.
Lotion up with SPF: My favorite face lotion is Aveeno Positively Radiant. It’s not oily or silky (I hate that feeling on my face). Plus the SPF is 15. Always use a lotion with sunscreen. You will be happy you did at age 40.
Use a Primer: Mac’s Prep and Prime is the best. It is designed to improve the look of foundation once it’s on your face. Helps to reduce oil and redness and also smooths out skin so foundation/powder look perfect.
Concealer: Very important! I use Erase Paste by Benefit. This is good if you want a lot of coverage and have normal skin. If you are oily, I would suggest a stick. I hear that Nars has a really good one. Use under eyes to get rid of circles, around nostrils to even out face and dab on problem areas. Even out with a foundation brush–I use my Mac 190 religiously.
Powder: I swear by bareMinerals Original Foundation Powder. It goes on so smoothly without caking and you can control how much coverage you want. It’s easy–the more powder you use, the more coverage you get. Even out with a full circular brush that is designed for blending face powder. Again, Mac wins for brushes. I use their 187 Duo Fibre Brush daily.
