Laksa King on Urbanspoon

Voted #1 on Urbanspoon’s “Best Cheap Eats in Melbourne,” this restaurant definitely lived up to it’s expectations.

Tucked in a side street of Flemington, Larksa King is full of people who can’t wait to taste the Maylaysian cuisine. This place is seriously packed, so call ahead. Everything about Laksa King from the atmosphere to the decor is perfect for a date or group session.

Drinks are cheap — think whisky and coke around $5.50 — and between 5-6:30 PM they give you 10% off your bill (anyone up for after work drinks?)

Service is quick and staff is attentive. It’s the closest thing to authentic next to Asia.

So good, I’ve gone back three times!

Now, to dessert — Ice Kachang: shaved ice, red bean, grass jelly, lychees, palm seed, evaporated milk and palm sugar. Such a sight to see and tastes so refreshing!
